Best Mattress in a Box 2026: 8 Boxed Beds Worth Buying

We ranked the boxed mattresses that ship to your door from RTINGS lab data, expert reviews and owner ratings — then dug into the questions nobody answers well: how long they take to expand, what the smell is, and what happens if you want to send one back.

By Kevin, writer & researcher17 min read🔬 Research-based, not sponsored

The short answer

The best mattress in a box for most people is the DreamCloud Classic Hybrid. At about $699 for a queen it costs a fraction of a showroom hybrid, yet RTINGS measured 9.0 for edge support and 7.9 for both pressure relief and cooling. Tom’s Guide names it its top bed-in-a-box and best mattress under $1,000. It ships compressed in one to two days, comes with a 365-night trial and has no return processing fee. It is the boxed bed we would tell a friend to buy first.

If you can spend more, the Bear Elite Hybrid is the best-performing boxed bed in our database for hot sleepers and back or combination sleepers. RTINGS named it the best medium-firm mattress for most people, and it comes in three firmnesses. Side sleepers should look at the DreamCloud Premier Hybrid. Couples who want memory foam should look at the Nectar Premier. And if a chemical smell is your main worry, the latex-based Bear Natural is GREENGUARD Gold certified and fiberglass-free.

Two things this page will not do. We won’t pretend we slept on these beds. We don’t run a lab; we aggregate the people who do, chiefly RTINGS, Sleep Foundation, Tom’s Guide, Mattress Clarity and Sleepopolis, plus owner ratings. And we won’t send you to a boxed bed if a boxed bed is wrong for you. If you want a traditional coil-on-coil feel, hate assembly or simply can’t lift 80-plus pounds up a staircase, the flat-shipped Saatva Classic with white-glove delivery is the better buy. We compare the two delivery models in detail below.

Every pick below ships compressed and rolled, arrives by parcel carrier and expands in your bedroom. Prices are typical queen prices, not inflated list prices.

Boxed mattresses compared

The comparison table puts all eight beds side by side. Sub-scores lean on RTINGS’ measured results wherever RTINGS tested a model. Our how we rate page explains the formula: half measured performance, a third expert consensus, a fifth owner ratings, with brand-run review widgets down-weighted.

† Owner rating from the brand’s own site only — treat it as a ceiling. Brand-level Trustpilot scores are shown on each brand review.

Read across the durability row before you read anything else. Most of these beds score between 4.3 and 6.2 for longevity. Lower-density foam is cheaper, lighter and easier to compress, and that’s one reason boxed beds can be so affordable. The exception is the latex-based Bear Natural, which scores 8.0. If you want a boxed bed to last ten years, latex is the material that gets you there. If you are happy to replace a mattress after six to eight years, the cheaper foam-and-coil hybrids are perfectly sensible.

The firmness-versus-price map shows where the bargains are. The DreamCloud Classic Hybrid and Nectar Classic Hybrid sit in the medium-firm sweet spot for well under $1,000. The softer, side-sleeper beds (DreamCloud Premier, Puffy Lux) cost more. And the Siena sits alone at the bottom of the price axis, which is where it belongs: it’s a guest-room bed, not a nightly one for most adults. For more beds under $1,000, see our best budget mattress guide.

How we chose the best boxed mattresses

We started from every compressed, rolled mattress in our database, which ruled out all six Saatva models because Saatva never boxes its beds. Then we applied four filters that matter specifically to boxed beds, on top of the comfort and support data we use everywhere else on the site.

  • Measured performance first. Where RTINGS tested a model, its pressure-mapping, cooling, motion and edge results set the sub-scores. Expert scores from Sleep Foundation, Tom’s Guide, Sleepopolis and Mattress Clarity fill the gaps.
  • A real trial, with no processing fee. Buying a bed you’ve never lain on is only reasonable if you can send it back. Every pick except the Siena carries a 365-night trial, and none of the boxed brands we picked charge a processing fee on returns.
  • Clear expansion and storage rules. We favoured brands that publish when to open the box, how long expansion takes and what voids the warranty, so you know the rules before you buy.
  • Honest owner data. We read Trustpilot, GoodBed and BBB records, not just on-site star widgets. Some of these brands have weak service records, and we say so in each review.

What we didn’t reward: claims about “hotel luxury” or “cloud-like” comfort that no measurement supports, and list prices. Every boxed brand we track sells far below its list price almost all year, so the typical price is the number that matters. Our best time to buy a mattress guide shows when those discounts deepen.

6.5/10 · Medium-firm — Testers 6–7.5; brand now labels it Firm; RTINGS measured Medium-Plush (39 Pa/mm).

The DreamCloud Classic Hybrid is the best bed in a box because it is the best value in the whole category, boxed or not. It’s a 12-inch pocketed-coil hybrid with a quilted top, and RTINGS’ numbers are remarkable for a $699 queen: 9.0 for edge support, 9.0 for responsiveness, and 7.9 for both pressure relief and cooling. That’s the profile of a bed that is easy to move on, comfortable to sit on and unlikely to trap heat, which is exactly what most boxed foam beds struggle with. Tom’s Guide calls it the top bed-in-a-box and its best mattress under $1,000. Sleepopolis rated it 4.9 out of 5.

Firmness reports vary. RTINGS measured it medium-plush at 39 Pa/mm, testers put it between 6 and 7.5, and DreamCloud now labels it firm. It suits back sleepers, couples and combination sleepers under about 230 lb best, and lightweight stomach sleepers may find it slightly too soft. The two things to know before buying are durability (RTINGS longevity 5.5) and service. DreamCloud scores just 1.9 on Trustpilot, mostly over sagging claims, and its Forever warranty only covers dips deeper than 1.5 inches. It also has the strictest unboxing rule of any brand we track: a mattress left unopened for 90 days after delivery is treated as misused. Open it the day it arrives. Our DreamCloud Classic Hybrid review covers it in depth.

SoftMediumFirm

6/10 · Medium-firm — Medium tested (RTINGS Medium-Firm, 51 Pa/mm). Soft ≈5, Firm ≈7–8.

If the DreamCloud is the value pick, the Bear Elite Hybrid is the performance pick. RTINGS named it the best medium-firm mattress for most people in 2026, and its measured results explain why: 9.7 for edge support, the highest of any boxed bed we track, 9.4 for responsiveness and 7.9 for cooling. Tom’s Guide gave it its Best Cooling Mattress award in 2025. Unlike almost every other boxed hybrid, it comes in three firmnesses (Soft, Medium and Firm), so heavier side sleepers and back sleepers can each get a version that suits them.

The weakness is longevity. RTINGS rates it only 4.3 because of its comfort-foam density, the lowest durability score among our picks. That’s the trade-off of a soft, responsive foam top. Bear’s parent company, 3Z Brands, says its beds are made to order and compressed on the day they ship, so they spend very little time in the box, which helps them expand fully. Bear ships free by FedEx in five to eight business days and offers free pickup returns, though only one return per household. At about $1,599 it costs more than double the DreamCloud, so buy it if cooling, edges or firmness choice are top priorities. See our Bear review for the full lineup.

SoftMediumFirm

5.5/10 · Medium — Labeled medium-firm but tests softer (RTINGS Medium-Plush, 36 Pa/mm).

Side sleepers need their shoulders and hips to sink in, and most boxed hybrids are a little too firm for that. The DreamCloud Premier Hybrid isn’t. RTINGS measured it medium-plush (36 Pa/mm), softer than its medium-firm label, with 8.2 for pressure relief, 8.6 for motion isolation and 8.5 for edge support. Strong edges are rare on a soft bed, so this one is unusually easy to get in and out of. At about $1,099 for a queen, it is the side-sleeper bed in a box we’d buy.

It’s too soft for stomach sleepers and average or heavier back sleepers, and its longevity (5.1) is no better than the cheaper Classic. At 13 inches with a thick Euro top, it’s also a bed to give the full 72 hours before you judge the feel, since Puffy notes thicker beds take longer to expand. For more options, our best mattress for side sleepers guide compares it with white-glove beds.

6/10 · Medium-firm — Testers 5.5–6; RTINGS Medium (45 Pa/mm).

All-foam beds are the original bed-in-a-box, and the Nectar Premier is the best of them we track. Tom’s Guide named it the best memory foam mattress of 2025. RTINGS measured 8.8 for motion isolation, so a restless partner barely registers, and 8.0 for cooling, which is better than the Nectar Classic. It’s medium at 45 Pa/mm, with the slow, hugging sink-in that memory-foam fans want and that hybrids rarely deliver.

The downsides are typical of foam. Edges are mediocre (6.2), longevity is 5.7, and it’s too soft for heavier back and stomach sleepers. All-foam beds also off-gas more than hybrids, because foam is where the VOCs come from. Mattress Clarity noted around 48 hours of odour from the cheaper Nectar Classic, and the Premier uses similar materials. Nectar recommends a full 72 hours for expansion. Nectar’s service record is the weakest of the brands here (Trustpilot 1.4), mainly about warranty claims. Our Nectar review has the details, and best mattress for couples compares it with other low-motion beds.

6.5/10 · Medium-firm — Testers 5.5–7; RTINGS Medium-Firm (56 Pa/mm).

The Nectar Classic Hybrid puts Nectar’s memory-foam feel over a pocketed-coil base for about $849. Compared with the all-foam Classic, the coils buy you better cooling (RTINGS 7.9 against 7.2), better edges (7.4 against 6.2) and more support for heavier sleepers. Motion isolation is still excellent at 8.6, and Mattress Clarity picked it as a top hybrid for cooling. It’s the bed to buy if you like the foam hug but run warm.

RTINGS measured it medium-firm (56 Pa/mm), but tester firmness reports range from 5.5 to 7, so this is one where the trial genuinely matters. It is less bouncy than most hybrids and RTINGS flagged lower-grade foam. Light side sleepers will usually do better on the DreamCloud Premier. Back sleepers, warm sleepers and couples are the target. If you are deciding between the two Resident brands, our Nectar vs DreamCloud comparison goes sub-score by sub-score.

Puffy Lux, Bear Natural & Siena: the specialists

Puffy Lux Hybrid (about $1,549) is the plushest bed in our boxed list. RTINGS measured it medium (43 Pa/mm) with 7.9 pressure relief and 8.0 motion isolation, which makes it a strong match for light and average side sleepers who want to sink in. Tom’s Guide noted off-gassing, and RTINGS rated longevity 6.0 because of lower-density foams. Puffy’s trial is 365 nights for orders from 23 February 2026; returns are free, and an opened mattress is collected for charity donation. There’s a lifetime limit of two returns per household. Our Puffy Lux review covers it fully.

Bear Natural (about $1,699) is the boxed bed we recommend to people worried about chemical smells. It uses Talalay latex and organic cotton, is GREENGUARD Gold certified and fiberglass-free, and scores 8.0 for durability, far above every foam bed here. Sleep Foundation’s off-gassing guide notes that natural latex should not release VOC odours, though it may smell faintly of rubber. The trade-off is motion isolation (4.5): latex is bouncy and transmits movement. It suits back and combination sleepers who sleep hot and share a bed with a still partner.

Siena Memory Foam (about $329) is Nectar’s sister brand and the cheapest boxed bed we’d recommend. It’s medium-firm, isolates motion well (7.5) and carries a 180-night trial when bought direct. But it holds heat (5.8), the edges are weak (5.0) and it isn’t built for sleepers over 230 lb. For a spare room, a dorm or a first apartment, it’s fine. For other options at this price, see our Amazon mattress review.

Are boxed mattresses good?

Yes, the good ones are. The evidence for that is the data above: a $699 boxed hybrid matching or beating far pricier flat-shipped beds on RTINGS’ edge, cooling and pressure tests. But there’s an argument in the industry about whether compression itself harms a mattress, and it is worth understanding because it shapes how you should handle one.

The case against comes from Saatva, which doesn’t sell boxed beds and so has a commercial interest. Its VP of product, Byron Golub, told Tom’s Guide that “compressing a mattress can accelerate the destruction of its foam layers even before you sleep on it.” Saatva’s own blog goes further, claiming that “two to three rows of coils in the center of the mattress, where it folds at the crease, are usually destroyed.” Neither claim comes with published test data.

The counter-argument comes from Tim Dilworth, COO of 3Z Brands, Bear’s parent company, who has an equal and opposite commercial interest. He told Tom’s Guide that roll-packed beds generally use higher-density foams so they can survive compression. Crucially, he named the real risk: “The most common issue is incomplete expansion due to damage to the foam layers.” And he said when it happens: “You typically see this happen when mattresses are compressed in boxes for over three months.”

Our reading: neither side has published independent testing, so the measurable evidence is what happens after the bed is unboxed. On that evidence, boxed hybrids perform well in the lab. Their weakness is longevity, and that’s mainly down to foam density, not the box. The practical lesson is that time in the box is the risk you control. Buy from a brand that makes beds to order, and open the box as soon as it arrives.

Who should skip a boxed bed? People who can’t lift and manoeuvre a heavy roll and have no one to help. People who want a traditional innerspring with a thick pillow top, which can’t easily be compressed. And people who are highly sensitive to smells, unless they choose a latex bed like the Bear Natural. Everyone else can buy a bed in a box with confidence.

Box size and weight: will it fit up your stairs?

The box is the whole point of a boxed mattress. A queen-size bed that would need two people and a straight run of hallway arrives as something closer to a mini-fridge. Few brands publish carton sizes, but the numbers we could find show just how compact they are.

Bear’s help centre gives a single shipping box size of about 42 × 20 × 20 inches for its mattresses. A retailer listing for the Nectar Premier queen gives an 18 × 18 × 45-inch carton and an 85 lb weight. Once open, those beds take up roughly three to four times the volume of their boxes. That compression is why boxed brands can ship by parcel carrier rather than freight truck, and it’s a large part of why they cost less.

The weight is the catch. An 85 lb box is manageable for two adults but awkward for one, especially on stairs. Hybrids are heavier than all-foam beds of the same size because of their steel coils, and king sizes weigh more again. Box dimensions vary by model and size, so check the product page or ask the brand before delivery if you have a tight stairwell or a lift. Many brands, including DreamCloud and Nectar, sell White Glove delivery as a paid add-on if carrying it yourself isn’t an option. For the bed dimensions themselves, see our mattress sizes guide, and if you’re buying a king, our best king size mattress page.

How long does a mattress in a box take to expand?

Most boxed mattresses take 24 to 72 hours to expand fully, but you can usually sleep on them the same night. Nectar says its beds take 24–72 hours and recommends waiting the full 72 for the best feel, while also saying you can sleep on it right away. Puffy says most boxed beds reach about 90% of their size within four to six hours. Tuft & Needle says you can start using its mattress within two to three hours of unboxing.

Three things slow expansion down. The first is temperature: Puffy notes that foam expands faster in warmer rooms, so a cold delivery day matters. The second is thickness, because thicker beds take longer to reach their full height. The third is construction. Puffy says hybrids generally take longer than all-foam models, while Nectar lists humidity and ventilation as factors too. Time in the box is a fourth factor you can control: the longer a bed stays compressed, the slower and less complete its recovery.

How do you know it’s finished? Measure the height at the centre and compare it with the listed spec, and press on the surface to check for soft or flat patches. If it still looks short, lumpy or saggy after 72 hours, Puffy’s advice is to contact the manufacturer, and we agree. Document it with photos and a tape measure in shot. Your trial and warranty are both easier to use if you report an expansion problem early rather than after several weeks.

Mattress in a box smell: off-gassing facts

That “new mattress smell” when you cut the plastic is off-gassing: volatile organic compounds (VOCs) released by polyurethane and memory foam. Sleep Foundation explains why it’s strongest with boxed beds: vacuum sealing traps the byproducts until you open the package at home. Its off-gassing guide says the odours pose no known serious health risks, but can cause headaches, nausea or dizziness in sensitive people and may irritate people with asthma or allergies.

How long does it last? Sleep Foundation says the majority of the odour dissipates within a few hours, though you may smell traces for several days to a few weeks, particularly with synthetic foam beds. The best peer-reviewed evidence we found agrees. In a 2022 study in Chemosphere, Beckett and colleagues measured emissions from two new memory foam mattresses over 32 days. Airborne VOCs peaked on the first day and then decayed, with short half-lives of roughly 4 to 12 hours and a long tail of about 24 days. The modelled one-year average total VOC concentrations were 2.7 and 4.2 μg/m³, and the authors concluded the levels were well below health-based benchmarks. It’s only two mattresses, but it matches the pattern owners describe: a strong smell on day one that is mostly gone within a few days.

CertiPUR-US formaldehyde

Verified by small-chamber test

What do certifications tell you? CertiPUR-US certifies the flexible polyurethane foam inside a mattress. Its certified foam is made without formaldehyde, ozone depleters, prohibited phthalates, mercury, lead and other heavy metals. It must be low-emission, with VOCs below 0.5 parts per million after 72 hours of conditioning. It doesn’t cover the cover, the glue or the coils, though. Sleep Foundation lists CertiPUR-US, GREENGUARD Gold (which the Bear Natural carries), OEKO-TEX and eco-INSTITUT as certifications that verify independent content and emissions tests. It adds that natural latex, hybrids and innerspring beds usually have the lowest off-gassing potential.

To air out a boxed bed fast:

  • Ventilate. Open windows and run a fan. Sleep Foundation says ventilation and time are the key.
  • Unbox in the morning. That gives it a full day before you sleep on it, covering the first-day peak.
  • Leave the sheets off for a few hours. Let air reach the whole surface while the first-day peak passes.
  • Choose a hybrid or latex bed if you’re sensitive. Coils don’t off-gas and air flows through them, so less of the bed is foam.

If a strong chemical smell persists beyond a couple of weeks, or anyone in the house develops symptoms, contact the brand. That is precisely what the trial exists for.

How long can a mattress stay in the box?

Not long. This is the most underrated rule in boxed-mattress buying, because breaking it can cost you both your trial and your warranty. The brands that publish a limit put it at between about four weeks and 90 days.

Nectar is blunt: “We recommend you open it as soon as it’s delivered.” It also warns that leaving the mattress compressed for an extended period “can reduce the product’s quality” by stopping it expanding properly. Nectar and DreamCloud both say a mattress not opened within 90 days of delivery is considered misused and is ineligible for warranty claims and returns. DreamCloud’s policy took effect on July 28, 2026. Tuft & Needle recommends setup within three to four weeks. Puffy owners report warranty denials for “improper storage”, so treat that as a risk too.

Our rule is simpler than any brand’s: open it within 72 hours of delivery. If you’re moving house or buying for a room that isn’t ready, delay the delivery rather than storing the box. If you must store it, keep it flat, dry and at room temperature, never on its end in a hot garage. And remember that the trial clock usually starts at delivery, not when you open the box. Tuft & Needle says so explicitly, and DreamCloud counts its 365 nights from delivery too.

Returning a bed in a box: how it actually works

The one thing you can’t do with a boxed mattress is put it back in the box. Once it’s expanded, it’s full-size forever, so returns work very differently from a parcel return. Instead of shipping it back, most brands send a local donation or pickup partner to collect it, then refund you.

  • DreamCloud: a return request for an opened mattress can be made no earlier than 30 days and no later than 365 days after delivery. The bed must be in a sanitary condition fit for donation. Donation partners can refuse a mattress they judge ineligible. There’s no processing fee, but shipping, White Glove and recycling fees aren’t refunded.
  • Nectar: no processing fee; refunds exclude shipping, White Glove and state recycling fees. Keep it 30 nights first.
  • Puffy: free home pickup for charity donation, or you arrange the donation yourself and send a receipt. Minimum 30 nights, maximum two returns per household. Unopened mattresses can go back to Puffy’s facility at no cost.
  • Bear: free pickup and full refund, minus promotional value. One return per household, first order only, after a 30-night break-in.
  • Siena and other Amazon purchases: the retailer’s return window may apply instead of the brand’s trial. Buy direct if the trial matters to you.

Two practical tips. First, use a mattress protector from night one. A stained bed can fail the sanitary condition that donation partners check, and that can sink a refund. Second, keep your order email, delivery date and expansion photos. Dates and condition are what a return hinges on, and both are easy to prove if you’ve kept a record. Compare this with Saatva, which charges $99 for a return or exchange.

Bed in a box vs white-glove: which delivery should you choose?

The alternative to a bed in a box is a mattress that ships flat and arrives with a delivery crew. The best-known online example is Saatva. Saatva never compresses its mattresses: they’re built to order, delivered by a two-person team who set them up, and your old mattress can be taken away for free. Lead time is about 9 to 21 days, against one to two days for a DreamCloud or Nectar.

Which is better depends on what you value. Boxed beds win on price, speed and return terms. Our top five cost $699 to $1,599 for a queen and charge no return processing fee. White-glove wins on convenience and feel. There’s nothing to carry, cut or wait for, the old bed disappears, and you get a traditional coil-on-coil feel that boxed hybrids rarely match. Saatva’s owner ratings are also stronger, with 3.5 on Trustpilot and an A+ BBB record, against 1.4 to 1.9 for Nectar and DreamCloud.

Our rule of thumb: if you’re under about $1,200, comfortable carrying a heavy box and want the most measured performance per dollar, buy boxed. If you’re older, have mobility limits, live up several flights of stairs or want a hotel-style innerspring, pay for white-glove. You can also have both: DreamCloud and Nectar sell White Glove delivery as an add-on, though the fee isn’t refunded if you return the bed. If you are weighing these two exact brands, our Saatva vs DreamCloud comparison is the place to start.

How to buy the best online mattress

“Best online mattress” and “best mattress in a box” are nearly the same search today, because almost every direct-to-consumer brand ships compressed. The rules for buying one well are the same whether it arrives in a box or on a truck.

  1. Pick firmness by body weight and position, not marketing labels. DreamCloud calls the Classic firm; RTINGS measured it medium-plush. Read measured firmness where you can, and use our how to choose a mattress guide to find your target.
  2. Ignore the list price. The DreamCloud Classic’s list price is about $1,892 and it sells for about $699. That discount isn’t a deal, it’s the real price.
  3. Read the trial’s small print. Check the minimum nights before a return, any fees, how many returns are allowed per household, and whether buying from Amazon or a retailer voids the brand trial.
  4. Read the warranty’s depth threshold. “Forever” and “lifetime” warranties typically only cover body impressions beyond a set depth: 1.5 inches at DreamCloud and Nectar.
  5. Check independent owner ratings. On-site star widgets skew high. Trustpilot, GoodBed and the BBB are more honest about service.

Plan for the delivery as part of the purchase. Check access, assemble your frame first and arrange a helper. Order so the bed arrives when you’re home and ready, not weeks early. For sleepers with specific needs, our guides to the best mattress for back pain, hot sleepers and heavy people rank boxed and flat-shipped beds together.

Mattress in a box in Canada

Most of our US picks don’t ship to Canada. DreamCloud and Nectar’s Canadian domains redirect to the US stores, Bear no longer sells direct in Canada, and Saatva has said it won’t resume Canadian sales. The exception is Puffy, which sells at puffy.ca, with a 365-night trial and lifetime warranty.

Canada has its own strong boxed brands, though. Our best mattress Canada guide ranks the Douglas Summit (queen C$1,449, 365-night trial, 15-year warranty), the Silk & Snow Hybrid (around C$800–975) and the all-foam Endy (C$895) from independent test scores and owner reviews. For brand deep dives, see the Douglas review and Endy review. The expansion, off-gassing and storage advice on this page applies to them just the same.

Mattress in a box FAQ

What is the best mattress in a box?

The DreamCloud Classic Hybrid for most people: about $699 for a queen, with RTINGS scores of 9.0 for edge support and 7.9 for pressure relief and cooling, plus a 365-night trial. The Bear Elite Hybrid is the best upgrade for hot and back sleepers, and the DreamCloud Premier Hybrid is best for side sleepers.

How long does a mattress in a box take to expand?

Usually 24 to 72 hours for full expansion. Nectar recommends waiting 72 hours for the best feel, Puffy says most beds reach about 90% within 4 to 6 hours, and Tuft & Needle says you can sleep on its bed within 2 to 3 hours. Cold rooms and thick hybrids are slower.

Can you sleep on a mattress in a box the first night?

Yes. Nectar says you can sleep on its mattresses right away, and most beds are around 90% expanded within a few hours. It may feel slightly firmer or flatter than intended until it fully expands, so judge the feel after 72 hours, not the first night.

Is mattress in a box off-gassing harmful?

For most people, no. Sleep Foundation says off-gassing odours pose no known serious health risks, though they can cause headaches or irritation in sensitive people. A 2022 chamber study of two memory foam mattresses found VOCs peaked on day one and stayed well below health benchmarks. Ventilate the room and choose CertiPUR-US or GREENGUARD Gold certified beds.

How long can you leave a mattress in the box?

Open it as soon as possible, ideally within 72 hours. Tuft & Needle recommends setup within 3 to 4 weeks, and Nectar and DreamCloud treat a mattress unopened 90 days after delivery as misused, which voids the warranty and return rights.

Are boxed mattresses good quality?

The best ones are. Boxed hybrids like the DreamCloud Classic Hybrid match or beat much pricier flat-shipped beds in RTINGS’ edge, cooling and pressure tests. Their weak spot is longevity, mostly due to foam density, so latex options like the Bear Natural are the most durable choice.

How do you return a mattress in a box?

You don’t re-box it. Brands like DreamCloud, Nectar, Puffy and Bear arrange a pickup, usually for donation, after a minimum of 30 nights, and charge no processing fee. Keep the bed clean with a protector, because donation partners can refuse a soiled mattress.

Is Saatva a mattress in a box?

No. Saatva ships every mattress flat with free white-glove delivery and setup, and can remove your old mattress. It takes about 9 to 21 days, and returns cost $99.
